Football Game Preview: Archer Tigers vs. South Gwinnett Comets + Official Tickets

The Archer Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the South Gwinnett Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Archer's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Grovetown. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Archer's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jordan Do, who threw for 231 yards and three TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes, and Tyree Begne, who gained 111 total yards and two touchdowns. Do's passing game has become a key predictor of the Tigers' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Archer proved: they limited Grovetown to a paltry two yards per carry. The Tigers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.6.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Gwinnett). They really took it to Heritage for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-14 win. The victory continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

South Gwinnett's record is now 5-2. As for Archer, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Archer might still be hurting after the 56-32 loss they got from South Gwinnett in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
