            Baseball Preview: Putnam Valley Tigers vs. Tuckahoe Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Putnam Valley are taking a road trip to  take on Tuckahoe  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Both come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Last Wednesday, Putnam Valley got the win against Hastings  by a conclusive  14-4. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Tigers.
  James Sanford was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and three  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nick Mazzola, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Tuckahoe won against Somers  on Thursday with seven  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Friday. The Tigers walked away with  a   7-4  victory over Eastchester. The  win was just business as usual for the Tigers, who after three games remain undefeated  this season.
Tuckahoe also got a great performance from  Declan McColgan as he  pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Rocco Briante was a standout: he scored two  runs and  stole six bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Briante is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: he's   snagged at least one every time he's  taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was  Jay Romeo, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Putnam Valley's record now sits at 2-0. As for Tuckahoe, their record is now 3-0.
 Putnam Valley was able to grind out a solid  victory over Tuckahoe in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024, winning  7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Putnam Valley since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
