Football Recap: Mansfield Legacy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Mansfield Legacy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They pulled ahead with a 43-42 photo finish over the Northwest Texans. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 34-17 loss the last time these two teams met.

J-Uan Harrison Jr. went supernova, rushing for 251 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 59 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 251 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jake Jenkins was another key player, throwing for 239 yards and a pair of TDs.

Mansfield Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 33-24 victory against Chisholm Trail on the 5th. As for Northwest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-9 win against McKinney North on the 4th.
