Soccer Game Preview: Callaway vs. Pike County

Callaway is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to square off against the Pike County Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Pike County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Callaway, who comes in off a win.

Callaway gave up the first goal on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Mount Paran Christian.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Pike County was not quite Mary Persons' equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Pike County's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Pike County suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Callaway, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Callaway beat Pike County 2-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
