Basketball Game Preview: Lansing Lions vs. De Soto Wildcats

Lansing hasn't had much luck against De Soto recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Wildcats. One thing working in Lansing's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

Lansing took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Leavenworth with points to spare, taking the game 76-61. The Lions have beaten the PIONEERS the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the PIONEERS has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, De Soto was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 61-55 to Piper. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Pirates are ranked sixth).

This is the second loss in a row for De Soto and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Lansing, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11-1.

Lansing might still be hurting after the 65-44 loss they got from De Soto in their previous meeting back in January. Can Lansing avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
