Football Recap: Porter Ridge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Porter Ridge fought the good fight in their overtime game against Charlotte Catholic on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Cougars were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 14-13 loss. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Porter Ridge still got an impressive performance from Rai'Shawn Elmore, who rushed for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Garrett Nowlan produced another solid effort rushing for 116 yards and one score for Charlotte Catholic.

Porter Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Charlotte Catholic, their record now sits at an identical 4-2.

Looking ahead, Porter Ridge will venture away from home to take on Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Charlotte Catholic, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sun Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
