Baseball Game Preview: Thousand Oaks Lancers vs. Woodbridge Warriors

Thousand Oaks has won six straight games at home, while Woodbridge has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Lancers will host the Warriors at 3:30 p.m.

Thousand Oaks is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Claremont with a sharp 10-3 win.

Thousand Oaks got a great performance from Jameson Berigan as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Berigan has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Matthew Magruder was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of James Luderer, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Thousand Oaks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Woodbridge had just enough and edged out Irvine 2-1 on Tuesday.

Kyle Underwood looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Woodbridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Camacho, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Thousand Oaks has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Woodbridge, their win bumped their record up to 21-9.
