Basketball Recap: Lake View Falls Short of Westinghouse in the Playoffs

Lake View and Westinghouse squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Lake View had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Westinghouse Warriors, falling 78-22. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Warriors are ranked 226th).

Despite the loss, Lake View still got an impressive performance from Jada Marrero, who posted 15 points. The contest was Marrero's third in a row with at least 15 points.

Lake View now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Westinghouse, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season.

Lake View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westinghouse, they will challenge DePaul College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
