Volleyball Recap: Grantsville Takes a Loss

Grantsville was the 3-2 winner over Morgan when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Cowboys took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Thursday. While the Cowboys didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-11 in the first set.

Grantsville actually scored more points across those four sets (93-89), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 26-24, 27-25, 25-19.

Hunter Powell paced Grantsville's offense, picking up 18 kills. Powell got some help from Isaac Nordgren and his 30 assists.

Grantsville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Morgan, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Grantsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Murray on the 18th. As for Morgan, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Ridgeline on the 18th.
