Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Plainsmen vs. Mountain View Thunder

The Evergreen Plainsmen are taking a road trip to face off against the Mountain View Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Evergreen is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Heritage 76-26. Given the Plainsmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mountain View hadn't done well against Kelso recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Mountain View took their contest with ease, bagging a 57-19 win over Kelso. The Thunder have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Evergreen pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Mountain View, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Evergreen strolled past Mountain View in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 58-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evergreen since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
