Basketball Recap: Evan Schumacher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lowpoint-Washburn over Woodland

Lowpoint-Washburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Woodland Warriors on the road by a 53-37 margin. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Lowpoint-Washburn's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Schumacher, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Kody Knecht, who earned eight points.

Lowpoint-Washburn's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Woodland, they moved to 19-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Lowpoint-Washburn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-46 win against Roanoke-Benson on the 24th. As for Woodland, they have also already played their next contest, a 60-48 victory against Earlville on the 20th.
