Volleyball Recap: Downey's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Downey won the last time they faced Gregori and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won four contests in a row.

The victory didn't come easy: Gregori scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Zaniyah Corneille paced Downey's offense, picking up 31 kills. Corneille got some help from Isabelle Altadonna and her 42 assists. Corneille was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Downey's record now sits at 20-7. As for Gregori, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Downey will square off against rival Pitman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gregori is set to face off against their familiar foe Enochs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
