Softball Recap: Watertown Comes Up Short

Watertown had lost four straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it five. They lost 16-8 to the Brandon Valley Lynx. If the Arrows were looking for revenge after losing 7-6 to the Lynx when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Brandon Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Brandon Valley's part, they got a massive performance out of Aniston Murray, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Murray a new career-high. Briley Laber was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Watertown will take on rival Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Brandon Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Stevens at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
