Baseball Game Preview: Churchill County Greenwave vs. Elko Indians

For the second straight game, Churchill County will face off against Elko. The Greenwave will venture away from home to square off against the Indians at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Churchill County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Churchill County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Elko 19-7 on Friday. The Greenwave have beaten the Indians the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Indians has come to flipping the script.

Mason Storm looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chase Carnahan was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Hyde, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI.

Churchill County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Elko, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
