Basketball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Narrows Green Waves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since December 6, 2023.

Narrows' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Holmes, who went 9 for 20 to rack up 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The contest was Holmes' third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Knoetze, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points and seven boards.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Narrows, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Auburn has already played their next game (against George Wythe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Narrows, they have already played their next match, a 77-70 defeat against Parry McCluer on the 7th.
