Basketball Recap: Crossroads Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Crossroads Christian Academy had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it seven. They took a blow against Faith Baptist Christian Academy, falling 53-22. Crossroads Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-9.

As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Sophie Sellars, who went 7-for-17 en route to 16 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Sellars. Emree Mattingly was another key player, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 16 points.

Looking ahead, Crossroads Christian Academy will face off against Brunswick Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, they will square off against The Habersham School at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
