Soccer Game Preview: Cascade vs. Wahluke

The Cascade Kodiaks will venture away from home to challenge the Wahluke Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Cascade put up the most goals they have all season last Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Omak a 4-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Cascade's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Omak are ranked 214th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wahluke, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Warden on Saturday as they made off with a 7-1 win. Considering Wahluke have won three games by more than five goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Wahluke has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those six matches. As for Cascade, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Cascade was able to grind out a solid victory over Wahluke when the teams last played back in May of 2021, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kodiaks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
