Richland Center is 0-10 against Dodgeville since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Hornets will challenge the Dodgers at 5:00 p.m. Richland Center's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Dodgeville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Richland Center nor Prairie du Chien made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Hornets fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 2-1.

Kyree Fischer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Richland Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carley Mieden, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Maddie McGlynn also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Dodgeville waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Norsemen with a sharp 14-4 victory.
Ava Lord made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Lord was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vanessa James, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Forsyth, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Dodgeville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
Richland Center's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Dodgeville, their record now sits at 7-4.
Richland Center might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Dodgeville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
