Mifflinburg hadn't done well against Danville recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Jackson Griffith was Martin's top target, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Mifflinburg proved: they limited Danville to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, Martin stood above the rest. He threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 46 yards and one score. Mifflinburg's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.4.

When it comes to explaining why Danville lost, don't look at Carter Raup. Despite the final result, he rushed for 76 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 108 yards on 11 of 23 attempts. Raup also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Mifflinburg's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mifflinburg will challenge Mount Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 882 yards in their previous games. As for Danville, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Montoursville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
