Basketball Recap: Emjae Willis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Neshoba Central over Meridian

Neshoba Central was the 58-52 winner over Meridian when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the Rockets and the Wildcats didn't end well, with the Rockets falling 61-45. The Rockets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Several Rockets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emjae Willis, who posted seven points in addition to eight assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kendarian Thomas, who scored eight points and five rebounds.

Neshoba Central now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Meridian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Neshoba Central will face off against Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meridian, they will head out to square off against Madison Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
