Basketball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 64-29 defeat at the hands of the Slocum Mustangs. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Slocum, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakwood will host Mount Calm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Slocum, they will square off against Trinidad at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Slocum's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
