Softball Recap: Scotia-Glenville Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Scotia-Glenville lost to Hudson Falls back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Tartans blew past the Tigers 11-4. The Tartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Keeley Kristel made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Klejsmyt was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Rose Malone also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Scotia-Glenville's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Hudson Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scotia-Glenville will venture away from home to face off against Queensbury at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tartans will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Hudson Falls, they are taking a road trip to challenge Broadalbin-Perth at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
