The home team had won the previous four meetings between Tracy-Milroy-Balaton and Dawson-Boyd, and Dawson-Boyd kept the tradition alive. The Panthers fell just short of the Blackjacks by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Taylor Squires was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs. Aiden Sanow was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Canby came out on top against Renville County West on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Lancers had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 8-7. With that victory, the Lancers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Jaxon Groenhoff, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He also got a hit, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bryant Hansen, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
The win got Canby back to even at 2-2. As for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Canby struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton took their victory against Canby in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
