Recap: Father Ryan Irish vs. Christian Brothers Purple Wave
The Father Ryan Irish's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell to Christian Brothers 18-14. Father Ryan lost against Christian Brothers in their previous head to head back in November of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 22-14 score last time.
Christian Brothers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Kreitz, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Father Ryan's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.0 points per game. As for Christian Brothers, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Father Ryan will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren County has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 18th. As for Christian Brothers, they will head out on the road to face off against Ensworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ensworth is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
