Recap: Holmes Bulldogs vs. Villa Madonna Vikings
The Holmes Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight defeat. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Villa Madonna.
Henry Thole was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds for Villa Madonna. Thole is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Aiden Day was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Holmes' defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Villa Madonna, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holmes won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carroll County at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. As for Villa Madonna, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against St. Patrick at 6:30 p.m.
