The Milby Buffs will square off against the Victoria West Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milby knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Victoria West likes a good challenge.
Victoria West's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Milby hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Everything went the Buffs' way against Spring Woods on Thursday as they made off with an 18-0 victory. Considering the Buffs have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Natalie Lara made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Daniella Juarez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Sophia Fernandez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Milby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Woods only posted an OBP of .143.
Meanwhile, Victoria West suffered their biggest loss since March 11th on Thursday. They came up short against Lamar Consolidated, falling 9-3.
Kendall Marshall was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Milby has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Victoria West, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Milby hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Victoria West struggles in that department as they've averaged .395. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
