Waterford-Halfmoon had to endure a 24-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They managed a 49-44 win over the Hoosick Falls Panthers on Thursday. The Fordians' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tatum Hickey, who posted seven points and seven steals. Avery McMahon was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Waterford-Halfmoon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for Hoosick Falls, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

Waterford-Halfmoon and Hoosick Falls could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings.
