Basketball Recap: Palm Beach Gardens Drops Season-High Score on Grandview Prep

Palm Beach Gardens posted their closest win since January 7th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 victory over the Grandview Prep Pride. The Gators' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Christian Laurore, who went 8-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 32 points along with five boards and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Hershell Reynolds was another key player, shooting 46% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Palm Beach Gardens was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Grandview Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Mott shot 5-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Dunkley, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

The win got Palm Beach Gardens back to even at 2-2. As for Grandview Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Palm Beach Gardens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-56 loss against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on the 2nd. As for Grandview Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-32 victory against Greenacres Christian on the 1st.
