Basketball Recap: Hoosac Valley Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Baystate Academy last Monday, Hoosac Valley came back down to earth. The Hoosac Valley Hurricanes took an 80-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belchertown Orioles on Wednesday. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Orioles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the defeat, Hoosac Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tre Moynihan posted 37 points. The dominant performance gave Moynihan a new career-high in points. Qwanell Bradley was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Hoosac Valley's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Hoosac Valley and Easthampton/Hampshire will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Belchertown will take on Baystate Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
