Soccer Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

Augusta came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Goddard Lions, falling 5-1. The loss continues a trend for Augusta in their meetings with Goddard: they've now lost six in a row.

Augusta's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Goddard, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Coming up, Augusta will head out to square off against Emporia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Goddard, they will challenge Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goddard will be up against Newton's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.87 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
