Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Hollister's Winning Streak

If Hollister was feeling good fresh off their 57-28 takedown of Gonzales last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hollister Haybalers fell 63-55 to the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers on Friday. The Haybalers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trailblazers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

The loss snapped Hollister's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record. As for Rancho San Juan, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hollister won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Everett Alvarez at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hollister knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Everett Alvarez likes a good challenge. As for Rancho San Juan, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Monterey at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monterey will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Rancho San Juan surely won't give up without a fight.
