Baseball Game Preview: Putnam County Panthers vs. Princeton Tigers

The Putnam County Panthers will head out to face off against the Princeton Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Putnam County is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Putnam County fell victim to Marquette and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 13, 2024.

Orion hit Princeton with a five-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 11-3 to the Chargers.

Princeton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Forristall, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Putnam County's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Princeton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7-2 record this season.

Putnam County skirted past Princeton 13-11 in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
