Volleyball Recap: Franklin Flyers vs. Alma Cardinals
Franklin lost against Alma on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Flyers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. While the Flyers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cardinals 25-16 in the first set.
Franklin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-19, 25-21.
Their offense was headlined by Olivia Haack and Lyra Peterman, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Madilynn Trambly and her 17 assists. Ellie Shaver controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Franklin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Alma, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
Coming up, Franklin will face off against Wilcox-Hildreth at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alma, they will square off against Southwest on Thursday.
