Basketball Preview: Kennedy Titans vs. American Eagles
The Kennedy Titans will head out on the road to face off against the American Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Kennedy lost to the Colts at home by a decisive 64-50 margin. Kennedy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, American unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 67-41 loss at the hands of Moreau Catholic. While losing is never fun, American can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Mariners are ranked 135th).
American might have lost, but man, Kiratraj Sanghera was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sahaj Bahia, who scored three points along with three steals.
Kennedy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12. As for American, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8.
Kennedy came up short against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January, falling 53-43. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
