Baseball Game Preview: Mount Airy Granite Bears vs. Ashe County Huskies

The Mount Airy Granite Bears will square off against the Ashe County Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Airy will be strutting in after a victory while Ashe County will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Mount Airy turned things around against North Stokes on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Vikings 5-3.

Meanwhile, Ashe County didn't have quite enough to beat Hibriten on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Mount Airy's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Ashe County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Mount Airy beat Ashe County 6-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Granite Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
