Softball Recap: South Houston Starts Season with Loss on the Road

South Houston had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Iowa Colony Pioneers, falling 21-6. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

South Houston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vanessa Vargas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

The win (which was Iowa Colony's third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Houston will head out to take on Anahuac at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Iowa Colony, they will head out on the road to square off against North Shore at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
