Preview: Stockdale Brahmas vs. Sabinal Yellowjackets
The Stockdale Brahmas will head out on the road to take on the Sabinal Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stockdale is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Stockdale had to settle for a 31-29 loss against Falls City.
Meanwhile, Sabinal came up short against Lee Academy of Science & Engineering on Tuesday and fell 56-44. Sabinal has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Sabinal got a solid performance out of Ricardo Perez, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Perez hasn't dropped below 15 points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Reyes, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Stockdale's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Sabinal, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-13.
Stockdale came up short against Sabinal when the teams last played back in January, falling 61-56. Can Stockdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
