Volleyball Recap: Joliet West Gets the Win

Joliet West picked up another tournament win on Friday. They skirted past the Carmel Corsairs 2-1.

Joliet West had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-16, 15-4.

Drew Johnson paced Joliet West's offense, picking up 11 kills. Johnson got some help from Nolan Fellows and his 24 assists. Fellows was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Joliet West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Carmel, they dropped their record down to 4-16 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Joliet West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Schaumburg on the 25th. As for Carmel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Prospect on the 25th.
