Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Leo's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

If DeKalb wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Leo, they should've done a better job of containing Makayla Bastress. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Barons on Thursday thanks in part to Bastress, who had 13 digs and three aces. She also posted an assist, marking her first of the season.

Leo never let DeKalb on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-23.

Leo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season. As for DeKalb, they dropped their record down to 9-21 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Leo and DeKalb are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Lions will face off against Garrett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DeKalb, after both having extra time off, they and Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
