Softball Recap: Midwest Central/Illini Central Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Midwest Central/Illini Central's offense. They came up short against the Athens Warriors on Monday, falling 10-0. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Midwest Central/Illini Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Meeks, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Midwest Central/Illini Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Athens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midwest Central/Illini Central will challenge Williamsville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Athens, they will venture away from home to take on Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
