Football Recap: Knoxville Catholic Piles Up the Points Against Silverdale Academy + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Knoxville Catholic). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-21 win over the Silverdale Academy Seahawks. With the Fighting Irish ahead 34-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

A big part of Knoxville Catholic's victory came down to the chemistry between Mack Bartholomew and his top target Garrett King. Bartholomew threw for 107 yards and two TDs on only nine passes while King threw for 112 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. What's more, Bartholomew racked up 137.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Knoxville Catholic proved: they limited Silverdale Academy to a paltry 0.8 yards per carry. The Fighting Irish didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged eight.

Although Silverdale Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Cole Carpenter, Connor Jenne, Cody Davenport, Luke Bowman, and Bob Edmonds. Carpenter also deserves some recognition as he posted his first receiving yards of the season.

Knoxville Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Silverdale Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Knoxville Catholic will venture away from home to challenge Ensworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Silverdale Academy, they will head out to take on Lakeway Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Seahawks will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.83 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
