Basketball Recap: Phillips Takes a Loss

Phillips was the 82-75 winner over Lindblom when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Phillips Wildcats took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lindblom Eagles on Thursday.

Lindblom's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Occomy, who posted 18 points. The match was Occomy's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Omari Kamal, who went 8 of 16 en route to 20 points.

Phillips has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Lindblom, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14.

As of now, neither Phillips nor Lindblom have any future games scheduled.
