Recap: Klein Collins Tigers vs. Klein Cain Hurricanes
The Klein Collins Tigers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 42-33 victory over Klein Cain. Given Klein Collins' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Klein Cain is ranked 108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Michael Wilson, who rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns. Jeremiah Hutching did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Klein Cain's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Issac Mooring, who threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, and Blaine Bullard who picked up 137 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Klein Collins' win was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20 points. As for Klein Cain, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Klein Collins will take on Tomball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Klein Cain, they will head out on the road to face off against Waller at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
