Baseball Game Preview: Columbia Wildcats vs. Middleton Vikings

The Columbia Wildcats will head out to challenge the Middleton Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Columbia came up short against Timberline and fell 7-4. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Marcus DeLeon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Middleton faced Mountain View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Vikings took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. Vikings fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Mavericks since Tuesday.

Staton Aldrich made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Middleton, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
