Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Margrit Pelto and Laderricka Payne Lead Fontainebleau to Victory

Fontainebleau won the last time they faced Chalmette and things went their way on Friday too. The Fontainebleau Bulldogs secured a 35-31 W over the Chalmette Owls. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Fontainebleau was led to victory by Laderricka Payne and Margrit Pelto. Payne went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, while Pelto posted 12 points. Payne is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Alliiyah Barnes was another key player, putting up no points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Fontainebleau smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Fontainebleau's victory bumped their record up to 15-18. As for Chalmette, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-20.

Fontainebleau does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chalmette, they have already played their next match, a 56-38 defeat against Northlake Christian on the 15th.
