Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elgin). They strolled past the Buffalo Bison with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 45-30. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1326th, while the Bison are ranked 498th).

Elgin moved to 5-18 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Buffalo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Elgin Wildcats duke it out with the Pflugerville Connally Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elgin is facing Pflugerville Connally at the right time seeing as Pflugerville Connally is stuck on a 20-game losing streak. Buffalo and Venus will round out the year against one another at at 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Buffalo will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Venus will have lost four straight heading into Monday's matchup.
