Softball Recap: Sabino Sabercats vs. Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks
While Sabino put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Ironwood Ridge. The Sabercats walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Nighthawks. The Sabercats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Nighthawks, too.
Avery Nielson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
