Softball Recap: Declo Comes Up Short

If Declo was feeling good fresh off their 18-1 takedown of Soda Springs on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets came up short against the Malad Dragons on Saturday, falling 16-1. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Declo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Malad, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Declo will challenge West Side at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Malad, they will face off against Firth at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
