1A Region 6 recap Sept. 26, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Meek, who took down 357th ranked Meek, 16-6. Hunter Woodall ran for 134 yards and caught three passes for five yards in the win.

Addison was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in 1A Region 6. The Bulldogs beat Shades Mountain Christian 42-3 earlier in the week.

Falkville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Aaron Estes threw for 96 and one touchdown and Clay Austill had 29 yards receiving. Cade Wilemon helped Falkville's passing attack out by catching six balls for 27 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Estes and Woodall the Blue Devils have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Estes leads the league in passing with 440 yards, while Woodall has rushed for 592 yards this season. Ragland's Jimmy Brock leads the league in receiving yards with 175 on five catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sumiton Christian takes on Falkville. The Eagles are currently in fourth, while Joel Schrenk's team is in second.

The Blue Devils moved up to 301 from 372 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Falkville climbed the ranks as a result of a 16-6 win over the Tigers.
