Baseball Recap: Schenectady Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Schenectady's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Watervliet Cannoneers on Tuesday. The defeat leaves the Patriots still looking for their first win of the season.

Schenectady saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Verett, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Verett is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Landon Hacker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Schenectady's record now sits at 0-9. As for Watervliet, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Coming up, Schenectady will take on Saranac on Saturday. As for Watervliet, they are taking a road trip to take on Germantown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Clippers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.09 runs per game on average), something the Cannoneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
